Military Outreach Pen-Pal Program
Dear Members, Partners, and Friends of TAC,
I am very pleased to be writing this message to you this morning, as many of you know, I am working on creating a military outreach program for TAC, and anyone else who would like to get involved. There are many other programs out there, some that work, some that don’t. We do not want to compete, or replace any of the other programs out there, rather just provide another outlet, one of our own.
This is going to take a long time, there is a lot of work to do. Some of you I have talked with on the phone, others via email, and so on! Its great to see how many people are so excited, and amped up about this! Its great! It just proves to me the great work that we will be able to accomplish together.
While I do not expect to have this program, in its entirety up and running for a while to come, (as there is still the rest of TAC to run, not to mention my personal life). I have a lot of ideas on what I want to happen for this program form sending Havamals, hammers, Asatru information, to general supplies such as non perishable foods, and needed toiletries etc to anyone who needs, or wants it who qualifies. There is a lot we can do, we just need the time to do it right, so that brings me to today.
Today I would like to launch the first part of the TAC Military Outreach Program, a network of Pen-Pals, friends, and just those who want to help. I have created these two forms,
To sign up with us, to be paired with a serviceman or women as a “pen-pal” for lack of a better word. https://form.jotform.com/61125592710955
For Military Men and Women, Chaplains or anyone else involved, to sign up a serviceman or women to be paired with an approved “pen-pal” applicant: https://form.jotform.com/61125726640956
Volunteers will be paired with someone to write with, after their application has been reviewed, then contact information will be shared both ways, and hopefully communication will be facilitated, providing, just that person to talk to.
Something like this, I am sure is already in the works, nor is it that hard to do on your own, however, I hear time and time again that a program like this is NEEDED and is being requested. What TAC wants to do, is create a network, and method of facilitating contact between oversees, or active duty men and women, or veterans, who just feel lonely, miss home, or just need a shoulder to lean on. This is what we want to do, we have never done anything like this before, but we know we are going to try our very hardest.
In the weeks and months ahead, as these requests come in, and as the network grows, the other aspects of our military outreach program will come out, strengthening from this base. If you would like to sign up, we are officially opening up registration for this program today.
We hope that you may all join us in this, and offer any help, or ideas that you may offer. It might be a rocky start, there may be some bumps in the road, but we will all learn, and progress together, to provide a better world for those men and women who lay their lives down daily for us to be able to sit, and ready, and write these messages.
Hail and Thank You.
