The Aesir

Situated high above the other worlds in the canopy of Yggdrasil, the Aesir make their home in the realm of Asgard. Consisting primarily of Odin, Thor, Tyr, Frigg, Baldur, and Hiemdal, these gods represent a variety of ideals such as war, justice, wisdom, poetry, and hunting.

 

Odin

Odin the All Father, King of the Aesir, inquisitive traveler, Father of the Gods and discoverer of the Runes.

Thor

Thor, son of Odin and Jord, god of Strength, Thunder, and the protector of mankind.

Baldr

The shining and beloved son of Odin and Frigg, his soul bound to Hel until the coming of Ragnarok.

Syn

Goddess of justice, honor and oaths, as well as handmaiden to the All-mother, Frigg.

Hlin

Handmaiden to Frigg, and protector of Frigg's chosen.

Forseti

Son of Baldur, husband to Nanna, and god of justice and order.

Kvasir

Born from the saliva of the Aesir and Vanir, gifted with knowledge.

Ullr

God of archery, hunting and winter.

 

Frigg

The All-Mother, wife of Odin, Queen of the Aesir and mother of Baldur and Hodr.

Týr

Týr, son of Odin, god justice and lord of the air and sky.

Hodr

Blind son of Odin and Frigg, unwitting slayer of his brother, Baldr.

Vidar

The silent one, son of Odin and lord of vengeance. 

 

Bragi

The skilled Aesir bard with a runed tongue.

Hiemdal

The great watchman of the Aesir, guardian of Bifröst.

Idun

Innocent goddess of youth, life and spring.

Sif

The golden haired wife of Thor.
